Doesn't look like it. We live in hope though. After all we hadn't found any ceps round here until last year.

No, but I am chomping at the bit to get out and look.

Is success more likely after a bit of rain?

right here we go ,morels like ash ,elm [2ndary growth]hawthorn ,poplar, sycamore, wood chippings, orchards etc.Weeds that are indicators are ,speedwell, lords and ladies, garlic mustard ,dogs mercury ,lesser celandine[mitr. semilibera].As for soil, top type is, light sandy loam over chalk but if many of the criteria are met its possible to find them in similar soils.Good luck. They are my top fungus by far.

This year have only found 1 single morchella elata in some woodchip (which is unusual as when there is one there are normally lots more) on a new housing estate. I've never found a morel in a 'natural' environment.

I finally found a good morel tree. Came home with about 36 today, might go back a bit later.

Anyone want to share favorite recipes? Or perhaps just general cooking tips, so that we don't just toss them into eggs.
