Looked like a young bird, South of Ae Forest in Dumfriesshire

I can't be 100% certain,but I think it had fairly well feathered legs

Looks like a Buzzard to me

Can't see from the pictures, but did it have a forked tail. If not, could be buzzard, if it did, red kite.

definitely not a kite...we do have buzzards and eagles

I've had a suggestion...hen harrier...that looks the closest

Don't think so, tail looks a bit too short and body too deep, I would still,stick with Buzzard
