From time visiting our NL family I've found that I can decipher some written Dutch, and understand basic station announcements etc. But any attempt to pronounce anything in Dutch produces universal mirth. Its a completely different sound-set.... or as a NL native Dutch teacher said 'it's not a language, it's a throat infection'!

Gosh. This old post resurrected.
Got rather distracted by another grandchild, some different work and a possible self build....
Meanwhile we've been trying to get the old place together for sale. Did have a buyer last summer, but the chain broke. Housing market has gone a bit quiet since, I wonder why

Yeah, I could do Devon for a year. But be warned, it's bloody cold here in Limousin in winter. Minus 8 forecast for next week. You need some wood in!

Hmm. Very tempting. But we're now more looking to sell/buy rather than just a short term exchange. So a permanent deal. Swap and cash balance so to speak.....

I'd have that in a heartbeat. But it's outside my price range I'm afraid. Most we'll get for this place is 100,000 euros and I can only drive one bus at a time sadly
