BTW, why is RoryD's pepper in the crafts section, and not in farm shops with the other food producers ?

Also, if RobR is going into knitting wool, should he also be in the crafts section as well as Food?

The categories are a whole 'nother discussion, they're a fair old mess at the moment!

In the blurb about traders, one of the important bits (IMHO)concerns building a reputation via the boards (or threads, or forum - sorry can't remember the correct terminology ), but when banners come up, is there a way of telling which member's banner it is - apart from looking at their signature/profile?

I say this because although I know the Agroforestry one is Tahir's, will less regular members know without hunting through profiles?

If they don't know, how can they check out to see if they want to deal with him (could be a right dodgy geezer )

It's not, it's MartinC of the ART. He's only ever posted here twice (I think) but he's a lovely bloke and his courses, publications, and plants are excellent.

That's a good point, can't think of an obvious way round it though.

Oops - sorry, I was just asuming it was something to do with you as you put it up to be altered

Kinda illustrates the point though - is it an issue do you think, or will people know that Rory's salt and pepper, Rob's rosewood farms, Martin's myfreeforum etc etc....

It's very very pretty though - I love it when yours comes up - sort of brightens up the screen..

BTW, Lozzie, thanks for amendments to the suggested text for the page that was originally the subject of this thread. Does anyone else have any suggestions. And can anyone else fill in the missing bits, such as who to email [editor@downsizer ?], and where are the lawyers when you need them ?

Gervase - could you take a quick look and ask MJ, please ?

Sorry Gil - Can someone move my bit into a separate thread if possible/felt necessary?

Sorry, Penny , my previous post wasn't at all meant to be like that - it was intended to distinguish between the two versions of what I posted - one combining two previous versions (by lozzie + RoryD), intended as a sticky (I think) for the Traders Forum; the other intended as a possible replacement to the Traders page off the Home Page (or by clicking on the Traders leaf icon), which is what first caught my eye.

That's probably made things even more confusing now. And I made two different points in my original post (one about the actual text, and one about the traders directory).

I think the point about how can you tell whose ad it is, is very valid. Could this be achieved by what comes up under the mouse pointer when you move the cursor over the ad ? e.g. if you moved it to Lozzie's textless ad, could the text say 'Lozzie's ad for....' ?

That's a good idea - is it technically possible?
