Do you kind people know anything about a tea towel printing company?

I manage retirement housing estate and as a bit of fun and fund raiser I thought it might be something that is achievable with quite a range of people, I'm looking at producing something like the schools do, have each person draw a picture of themselves.

Cost is the main obstacle - any suggestions please

I wonder if contacting one of the companies that does customs T-Shirt prints would be an idea? They are bound to be able to do tea towels.

If you want lots of different designs that seems a good idea. It would be cheaper if you have a run of a number all the same though I suspect.

I saw Angela on escape to the chateau doing it on some tea towels she had. She used a silk screen printing kit and did lots of her own design.

Would something like this cut the mustard?

if they have a stencil cutter(like a printer but cuts stencils from suitable designs) or are capable of precise scalpel work (good luck with that) and they can produce sensible styles of drawing it might work to silk screen many different images

or draw directly on the screen in masking fluid in either positive or negative

or photo silk screening, it would be a right pain for lots of different ones but can handle most types of image. it needs quite a bit of kit and skills

this might be a better way
draw cartoon on paper, poke holes in the design, pounce onto the cloth with coloured chalk or charcoal powder and freehand the product with dye and a brush
as kids can do it safely etc and tis a cheap option.

the tea towel school style is everyone does a simple drawing on paper, those are photoshopped into a composite and you get them printed onto tea towels

moderate price per unit for a decent number of them

that might get a double as the easiest option

tis low res and some of the "products" have better specs than others
ie some you could use, others would be best framed in a dark corner
