Very pleased with my Papaya! Thai green papaya salad this weekend!!!

Thank you both. People normally eat papayas when ripe. I far prefer green ones shredded and made into thai green papaya salad (tam som). It's got a good hit of chilli and fish sauce in it, so perhaps, not to everyone's taste.

The Pomegranates are great for Middle Eastern recipes.... or just as they are.

I'm with you Shan - green papaya salad is amazing. Ripe papayas are too cheesy for my liking

MR, here is the picture of where the vine splits as it comes in to the greenhouse. It's not 4 it's 3 it splits into. Still, not sure where I should cut back to. The one on the left is the second runner I've got coming in. Thanks.

Looking at that it depends on how you want to train it. The current trend seems to be to have one rod and grow the grapes off that. The old way was to have a number of rods and to cover the whole greenhouse. If you want to use the greenhouse for other things, I would suggest one rod along the ridge and cut the others out, but if not, then use all of them. If going for one, during the winter when it is dormant, cut the others out. Make sure it is dormant, or it will bleed. Train the stem along the ridge and let the grapes form on that.

I would suggest reading a book on growing grapes by the Royal Horticultural Society. They are very good and can give far better advice than I can.

Thank you MR, that is great. I'll cut it back to just the one rod, The only reason I have two going in there is because the lady two plots up from me told me I had to have two because someone told her that.

I'll give some reading a go.

Sgt. Colon, I would do the reading before you do the cutting. You may find they recommend something different now. You can't cut until the vine is dormant anyway.
