A few aol users have informed me that they cannot see any pictures on my website. I have heard that AOL use somekind of image compressor or something is there anything I can do so that AOL users can see the pics or do I have to inform them to change browsers to something that actually works.

Calling Alison I think she is on AOL. But we have had no complaints So are you doing anything odd? More info needed I think.

Actually what is the tech for your front page? I have been meaning to ask for reasons of dark plots

Not that I know of mate, this is news to me too. Each pic is a file of no more than 10k and is coded as follows

Me and Dave the self sufficient ish twins

whats the strangest part is that some of the pic's show up and some do not.

I actually meant was it straight html or php or whatever.

Maybe the easy question, is point me to a page and a pciture that does not show up, and I will look at the page source for oddities.

yep it is all coded on dreamweaver and is in straight forward html.

The front page has some oddities the left hand column with links to the forum at the top and tips, environment etc apparently grows on aol and covers over the pic's, which is possibly the problem. Also apparently the self sufficient Trish does not seem to show up thats on https://www.selfsufficientish.com/trish2.htm

much apprechiate you taking a look, as I am self taught when it comes to web stuff and there are still a few gaps in my knowledge.

I think your bets bet as the pages look ok to me. Is to go to:

https://www.netmechanic.com/browser-index.htm

this allows you to check your pages appearance in different browsers.

... I thought that there was no desperate hurry to change anything at the moment.

However, I have a bit of quite week next week (at last) so I was thinking of giving the front page a total new look. Not sure what yet, but I am going to make sure that if works on everything even a ZX81

Have you considered Mambo as a front end? It has a lot of advantages, as well as being free

Actually, although I can pick up 'selfsufficientish' OK I'm generally not too happy with AOL. Can anyone suggest a good alternative? i.e. cheap. ethical, reliable... Oh, and given that I'm a techno-idiot, easy to transfer to!

It is dead easy, we have code to integrate your forum with mambo Plus of course plenty of experience. It would be good for us to help you out for a change
