Chips from the chip shop made with maincrop spuds. The changeover will be in about a week or so. Speeded up apparently by the contents of two of McCains' stores going rotten so they've been buying up spuds like nobody's business.

Had home made chips last night - naughty but nice Used Estima, and had one of the biggest tatties I've ever seen

Sure we'll treat ourselves to some at the festival this weekend, they're always a bit pap at most fast-food type places though

That's cos they use frozen chips, unlike yer artisanal hand-crafted North Devon chip.

Do you have problems eating them and end up with salty vinegar down your front?

hehe, indeed not, not even like Surrey chips from the pretty dodgy chip shop across the road, and that's saying something!

Oh, and chips are an all-weather foodstuff How nice is it to have a poke of chips when you're at the seaside?

Drool...got me thinking about the best seaside chips I've ever had, at Whitby in the North East...mmmm...followed by a good ice-cream.

I do oven baked chips with Estima or Maris Piper usually. Have never cooked deep fried ones in my entire life.....

They're not chips then, just inappropriately-shaped tiny roast tatties.
