Not strictly I.T as this example is a DVD recorder.

On any dvd-r system you have to finalise a disk to make it compatible with other systems, as such you are going to be doing this with each and every disk.

So why does it take 10 remote control operations to get this to happen

Panasonic E50 which is a bit dated now, the Pannies are good machines overall though, I would not reject them because of one absurdity.

jema: i have the pioneer rt-500, and its the same here.(stop>setup>system setup>disk setup..blah blah)

question for you: have you had problems playing your dvd's on other dvd players? i find that many machines more than a few years old won't play my finalized dvds.

My DVD's about 500 of them I guess don't do the rounds that much, so I have not had anyone reporting a problem.
