We've been looking out for morels recently...well, it does say so in a neat little article I read on February Foraging recently
Problem is I'm not sure we're looking in the right places, and our camera is a bit rubbish, but if we do come across one, we'll see what we can do for you. You never know.
Bilberries are pretty much a no-no I fear. |
End of the month is better for Morels, and into March. Well worth looking out for from, say, now, till early summer. They'll inexplicably appear in vast numbers on wood chippings, burned ground in woodlands, etc. especially where the ground is a bit sandy. |

Never easy is it !........Went into town today, tried a couple of bookshops, neither of them had it in stock. Went to Waterstones, lady on the enquiries desk knew the book, owned a copy of it, directed me to the correct shelf, where i was faced with 2 copies of the book The pocket sized one with drawings, the larger one with photographs, and another 6
still i wanted a pocket book so i bought it.
Got me thinking of pockets...my rather tatty, minging, leaky noisy wax cotton jacket could do with replacing, 20 odd year old hunter wellies past their best........... more expence , still if the new lot lasts another 20 years...............
