I have just received an order from Ascot for jam jars which was great but in the large box was a half a bin bag worth of small 's' shaped polystyrene pellets. Any ideas of how I can recycle these??

Bean bag/pillow?

Base of container plants for light drainage (always concerned about leaking narsty chemicals so I would choose ornamental plants).

Insulation for something - bit late now.

Take them to a school for art messing, or see if there is a scrap scheme.

Difficult one - horrible stuff those. Green People is one compnay that uses very nice water soluble packaing, based on corn or potato or something. Just as effective but nothing like as noxious.

Bean bag for the dog was the only thing I could think of - but I don't think they will last long as they seem to break up quite easily. Last time I lovingly made the dogs a bean bag my hard work was repaid by them greeting me in the morning with a flat piece of material and a snow scene.

Yeah, those maize starch peanuts look almost good enough to eat, and compost down in no time.

Google ads have come up trumps...you could do one of those "Innovations catalogue" style lap trays. Could conceivably be useful for crafts, writing, even laptop if you have one.

Keep them in the attic for the occasion you need to pack something! Even if you don't sell anything on eBay, there's all sorts of times that having some cushioning/space-filling/insulating material comes in handy! And then there's the 'lucky dip' at the fete...

The winning idea is.......I am going to stick them in the attic and wait for a packing opportunity to come along! The tray idea was good though.
