From 1 January 2007 it'll be a legal requirement to display your company registration details somewhere on your website or risk a fine. More details here: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/12/21/new_web_email_regulation/


Had this flagged up on anothers ite so thought I'd mention it just in case any of you who are Ltd need to do a quick update, doesnt affect sole traders etc

Thanks Sally, that's really useful to know. Must let my sister know too.

I wonder how they expect people to find things like this out We subscribe to quite a few business sites and publications, we have a pretty good accountant, my sister is an ACT - but no one knew this, or said anything about it.

I can't help but wonder if anyone will ever bother with prosecuting this unless a web site is a scam site.

Well, if there's no contact details, it'll make it harder to prosecute.

I'm sorry, your honour, we tried to sue them, but they didn't have a contact address....
