I'm in a bit of a quandary. I've made some coffee pot wraps (coffee cosies) and they fit my cafetiere. However, I was thinking - are cafetieres standardised like teapots? I know you get different sized 'cuppages' in teapots but they're all basically the same. My one is 30cm round - I've looked on Ebay etc but can't seem to find if they're standardised. Here's what I mean

They're held shut with a small strip of velcro (like the mug cosies) so if cafetieres are all different sizes (within their 'cuppages') I'm on a bit of a hiding to nothing aren't I?

Seem to get 2 sizes, the 6 cup size and the 2 cup, the size you get in a motorway service station, and everyone I've ever seen with one of those has a bodun or a clone of them, which don't seem to vary much. I've put bodun spares into a clone pot before. I think they are all the same, but the label.

Would it be pushing my luck to ask Downsizers to measure their cafetieres?

We have two different makes and they are much the same size, if you position the velcro so that you can overlap a tiny smidge if needed then you should be safe

I haven't felt safe since 1975 Thanks girlies - I 'll put a slightly wider bit of velcro on and hope for the best. I hate velcro, it's so unsightly

only last Sunday I was thinking I needed a coffee pot cosy! Will probably knit one eventually. Definite gap in the market!

FYI, my pot measures 12cm (height of glass bit)
and 10cm diameter

Mine measures a smidging over 10cm diameter, and a smidging over 18cm from top to bottom.
A.

PS Yes, but what about my cafetiere?

10cm diameter - is that roughly 30cm circumference?

It's not the first time I've been asked to whip out a ruler...

9.8cm diameter (30.8 circumference), 18cm tall.
