Why's there an issue? If it works, we could take the nice bits and copy them. It's not protected in anyway I can see.

If you are after things other than food, I might be interested. I could put a few cards on, or something.

Might be up for this, July onwards. Do we need to discuss a 'stall' policy on things like delivery times, etc or use our individual working practices ?

More an issue of who nicks the idea, e.g. this is potentially.

1) A heck of a lot of work to write.
2) Quite lucrative, as even if you are not trying to make money I really do think it probably make sense to charge.
3) A good thing for downsizer to be doing in my view.
4) A good thing for me to be doing tying in with my aim to make ecommerce available in my free forums empire.

Oh, I thought you were suggesting we'd be stealing ideas, breaching copyright, etc etc.

No, but those things you've identified are Fun Problems. Think of them as Opportunities.

I'd say have a bash on their site, see what works, see what doesn't, and steal wholesale the good stuff.

Was thinking the other day, Downsizer would be one hell of a "brand name"........... River cottage seem to have done rather well.
If its a case of "chuck a tenner in the kitty" and get a global market audience, count me in, costs me double that for 4 hours farmers market stall space !

It does have attractions at the "downsizer enterprise" level, maybe the answer is for me to develop this sort of solution on myfreeforum and then to look at stealing the code from there for downsizer?

That already goes on to some degree, the gallery uses a version of the myfreeforum code.

I think this is an excellent idea - a lot of work but great concept

I can see a lot of work in trying to keep it up to date - many of our traders especially those with meat do not have it available all of the time and the site would need to give current info all of the time

Also does this site have one shop or is it linking to the traders own shops -

As a - albeit small, producer of bacon, smoked salmon and the like, I would be interested in taking part in a DS stall. I'm not sure of the logistics but am interested.

Would it not be simpler to do a "big barn" style site?
