Anyone else see it last night?

Fantastic property, hand make, mainly by one person, out of almost all natural materials.

Excluding his labour rates, an absolute bargain too.

Looked great, didn't see the whole programme but saw a bit of the hard work. Cash, time, skills and land and we couild all come up with something unfortunately it's getting the combination in the right place ath the same time!

Not sure about the glass bath - looked interesting but whatever floats your boat.

To be fair I think his skills far exceeded what most of us have. He was such a lovely man and incredibly talented. Even my normally recalcitrant husband was astounded by what he was doing with a router. Also, I absolutely loved the glass bath

The carving with the router was incredible - I loved the house too - amazingly beautiful and so well done - It must be somewhere not far from Cab and Bagpuss as it was in the Cambridgeshire Fens

I loved the leylandii hand rails as well but the staircase was breath-taking

I don't think it's the glass part of the bath Behomoth wasn't sure about, just the bath in general.

My guess is about half-an-hour north as they were not too far from Ely.

That was a work of art, that thing; much like the rest of the house.

Fantastic Fantastic fantastic. I loved this house and the people. I particularly liked it being on stilts to keep the damp and vermin away from straw walls.

Oh no, I missed it. Hopefully it will be on demand or one of the squillions of NTL channels.

It did make a great house for the programme and would like to see more of this type of house and more detail.

On a more practical note I wonder what people could do with a simpler design. Have a simple house based on rectangles to make the joints easier and not focus so much on the arty side of things. Base the windows on off the shelf sizes rather than design the windows to fit the unusual house and then pay a large amount for them. I would have thought you could cut the budget in half or have the money to hire a professional carpenter to help.

One thing that did annoy me was the cutting of an inch thick willow sapling with an electric saw, what's wrong with a hand say?

Its not the cost of the house but the cost of the land to put it on thats the problem. I missed the start so dont know the details of the land, but he was a very talented bloke.

Agree, it's exactly what we did with our 'non eco' house.
