Bought a whole load of onion sets a couple of weeks ago and forgot to label the bags I know that two of the varieties had short names starting with "S" - one was definitely Sturon. Any thoughts as to what the other one is called?

could be senshyu which is Japanese acording to my book or poss shallots

I'm 99% sure it was Setton, but thanks anyway.
Well, I finally got them all planted this weekend, along with the shallots (can't remember what they were called either ) and last of the garlic (I know, I know, it should have been in months ago!). Religiously soaked them all in seaweed solution before setting them out. Does anyone else do this, and have you tried a non-soaked group as a control?
Me neither - is it for feeding them or protecting them against something, Judith?

Dunno. I think St Bob told me to do it, so I've been doing it ever since!!! I think it's supposed to get them off to a good start, but I have no hard evidence to prove it.
