What's the botanical name for Garlic Mustard Cab? I could put it in the glossary with a nice photo (if that's alright with Res)

Sure Tahir, you can use it. I got two more including a close up of the buds (not quite open). do you want them?

Alliaria petiolata.

There's also a reasonably not awful picture with the plant at three stages of development here:

Give the plant a little nibble.

Should taste of garlic and mustard.

It's close to flowering, though, so expect it to be rather more bitter than you'd like. Better picked young.

well thanks to your piccies Res - I identified loads of Garlic Mustard on the way to work this morning - first time I've been able to confidently do that - Also thanks to Tahir I've realised its Jack by the Hedge - so a really good learning experience

Hopefully this weekend - if it isn't pouring down - Me and the kids are going on a foraging expedition - Even if we don't eat anything we find atleast we can have a good time identifying it all - I'll be posting piccies for the stuff we ain't sure about

Hoping to find some good mushrooms though

Joanne

Jo thats great - I am in two minds whether or not to do this with my kids when they are older... I REALLY think it will give them an appreciation of the outdoors...

Look forward to the pictures.
