Howdy everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome.

I found this site while looking for homemade wine recipies. Saw all the great info and had to join.

As far as my being a lush, only every couple weekends or so. Or if I get a fresh batch of wine. Then I have to do, ah....., quality control. LOL

Not quite sure what a "Bath Bomb" is. could you explain? Thanks.

good to have you posting. I'm just finishing off a glass of my stock elderberry so you will find kindred spirits here on the wine making

You're obviously not familiar with 'Lush', the natural cosmetics shop. Usually to be found stinking out a street near you - lovely stuff, but boy, strong-smelling! Anyhow, they do soaps, cosmetics, perfumes, etc., and one of their best-sellers is the bath bomb, which is a ball made of (I think) sodium bicarbonate and citric acid, with flowers and oils and stuff inside it. You drop it into the bath; it fizzes round madly for a few minutes, releasing all the nice smelly stuff. There's a lady on here (sorry, can't remember your name, as I'm only a newbie! - is it Sally?) who does homemade soaps and so on, and I bet she probably makes BBs too.

Glad to have you posting to though It is all about the members contributing the stuff in the first place, to create a real rich resource of information, in a way a forum cannot do on its own. But i'd hate for us to suddenly have everything about anything and for no one to ask on the forums any more

Hi Lush - so what is/are your favourite homemade wine(s)?

Perhaps you should try some of Jema's carrot whisky!! Well, perhaps, technically it isn't a wine but I bet it's fairly potent stuff!

As it has been topped off with real whisky, and starts from a strong base, I think it is pretty lethal It is certaintly popular, I am going to have to keep it well hidden at my next party.

So far I've only had one type of homemade wine, Elderberry. so that is my favorite. lol. But I have a batch of apple wine just starting and I have high hopes for it.

As for the carrot whiskey, I've already copied the recipie, and am gathering supplies for it already. I will try to start a batch sometime next month.

I found a great supply of empty wine bottles. I went to a couple of bars that sell wine by the glass. They just throw the empties in the trash. Now they are saving them for me.
