This morning (before the heavens opened and stayed open all day) we had a great walk to the local woods. Picked a gallon of oak leaves for wine, some good fat asparagus spears, enough water mint for wine, probably the last of the St. Georges mushrooms, half a basket of fairy ring mushrooms, and assorted other greens.

We're leaving the elder flowers for another week, they're a bit sparse still.

We don't get a lot of asparagus wild, but it's a great treat when we have some.

Also found yet another hemlock patch. This (dangerous!) stuff seems to be spreading like wildfire through the South East.

I expect I walk past lodas ofedible stuff on a daily basis, I just don't know what it is. That stuff that mrs nessbit posted about was (typically, was!) abundant on our regualr walks! Its on the list of things to do!
