Bought an electric chainsaw at a car boot in Swindon - already spent out on a new chain, but then I found the drive was slipping. Turns out that a large main drive gear (sort of internal toothed plastic wheel) is totally stripped of teeth. It might be worth trying to get a replacement, but theres no makers name on the chainsaw! It's green, with a black side-panel, a 14" cutter bar and the only markings are PWR 1700CSB 1700watt. Ring any bells?

Sounds like a B&Q own label. I've no idea what their parts availability is like.

The number is 0845 3002577

but... B&Q won't supply internal spare parts - and as it's their own make I can't really get the bit from anywhere else (unless anybody else re-badges it and it's just a generic Chinese? machine)- looks like its the end of the line for it. Shame really, and not such a bargain after all

Might be worth taking it to a tool repair shop - they might be able replace the wheel with a generic version. Otherwise, what a pain.
