Great idea.

I thought one of the tabloids would have started a "Have a Great British Christmas" campaign by now, advocating buying gifts made in Britain.

Dunno but it lists Green & Blacks, a UK company owned by Cadburys who make all their chocolate abroad.

Green & Blacks is made abroad? Or you mean Cadbury's? Because if it's the latter, there's a couple of factories near me up to no good...

Therein lies the conundrum...

I emailed them, they didn't respond adequately so I rang them, they still didn't respond adequately as to why it couldn't be made in the UK. This is before they were owned by Cadburys.

Even if Green and Blacks were to be manufactured in the UK, can the main ingredients be grown here? And in general how much of the stuff that you see labelled as "made in UK" is actually produced abroad, and then assembled here? It is a bit like that chicken welfare scheme from the RSPCA, or indeed almost anything to do with organic - sounds good on the surface, but when you look behind it, it doesn't do what it says on the tin.
