Some months ago I went to great length when rebuilding my bathroom, not to screw all the shower bits into the tilework on the grounds that at 6 years old the shower life had to be near its end.

a couple of days ago (timed for the hot weather naturally) the shower motor ground to a halt.

Cost of similar new Triton shower 143, cost of replacement motor from Triton 93

Similar thing with printers where can can almost buy a new one for the cost of two ink cartridges.

Aren't there any generic parts that could be used? The downside is it might take a while to get hold of them.

TBH i am sure I am on a lost, 6 years is old for a shower, the motor is fubar, but I think the thermostat is on its way out as well.

Does make me wonder about going for a system with a generic booster pump though. Divides up the points of failure. Like buying a hifi separates system.
