Yes, you read it right. It was a question on GQT this Sunday...

The chemicals and equipment recommended to dispose of this perncious growth were butter, and a frying pan.

Be Careful
Sometimes lawns are very high contenr specific weed killers etc.,
I never gather fungi from golf courses/lawns for that reason

I always take care from picking by paths, especially where dogs often walk.

However, if Bob Flowerdew is growing them, there will not be any weedkillers around.
