and got 3rd place!

So chuffed as I never even expected to get honey this year from a swarm I only got on 1 May, split on 17 May and then re-queened a few weeks later! They may beat me up every week - but they have done me proud!

I can't wait to try again next year!

Thx guys. I drive past the hall where the show was held every week day and it still makes me smile every time!

ksai - Good luck with your honey. There is no feeling like it when you get that first ever crop! Hope it's a big'un!

I'm doing the same this weekend, never done this before so a little nervous. but glad to hear you won a prize. It's my first year of keeping bees too, we've only got one hive but they've managed over 80lb of honey and I've left nearly two full supers for them during the winter.

Well done, hope I do as well as you.

Quick update, entered two classes, light honey and novice class, couldn't believe it when a got First Prize in both. I'm over the moon got two tickets to the National Honey Show in October as the Novice prize. All the stressing is finally worth it but now I have to live up to it next year.
