In reply to tahir the earth batterys can be found on google and about any search engine also electrostatic energy or free power this is a very interesting topic ,the earth energy battery can maybe used to power led as lamps and electrostic power to charge batterys also capacitors this subject goes back to the old telegraph days it was used to charge the telegraph batterys nathan stubblefield probably the most inventive of all in this area, while im posting on a solar heat panel how far should the glass be from the back of panel in inches.thanks to all.

I'm sorry, but to be very polite, this is nonsense.

It is indeed perfectly possible to produce electricity that way.
BUT it is *not* "free earth energy". It does *not* come from "the Ether".
As is claimed here https://energy.spiritworld.info/free_energy_systems.html?earthnrg.html

It is just a simple galvanic corrosion cell, using wet earth as the conducing electrolyte.
If the science is unfamiliar to you, have a look at
https://www.corrosion-club.com/galvanic.htm
where there is a photo showing fruit (a pear) as the electrolyte...

And a Zinc/Copper cell is discussed as a worked example here
https://www.science.uwaterloo.ca/~cchieh/cact/c123/emf.html

The work of Luigi Galvani and Alessandro Volta about 230 years ago elucidated this phenomenon.

There is no magic. It is not any sort of a secret. It is a scientific commonplace.
Which, in my schooldays, would have been familiar to most 14 year-olds in UK education.

Preventing galvanic corrosion of the anode in metallic structures is a routine consideration. Sacrificial (replace when its corroded away) Zinc anodes are routinely used. Try Googling "sacrificial anode"...

I hope I've been polite.

Oh, and explaining why *galvanised* (zinc coated) steel does not rust, should be easier once you understand the science...

Thanks for posting, hwu. Dougal as far as I understand it he hasn't (himself) claimed that it's some kind of magic that produces electricity from the ether. I'd never heard of them and had asked him what they were.

Sound quite useful if you've got a small off grid requirement, night light if you're solar reliant etc... (or is the power produced less than that)

(sorry for not googling it myself but been a bit busy)

Read the post correctly it said SEARCH for earth batterys AND FREE ENERGY there is several forums that discuss these topics i made no statement it was( free energy) a lot of people are not blessed with high iqs and would like to learn about different things this is what this forum is all about LEARNING,TIP go to search type in earth energy batterys or free energy there will be several discussion forums for each of the above (the post above is not nonsense) today has not been a good day.

I hadn't heard them called "earth energy batteries."
So I took a moment to Google the term.
The "spiritworld.info" page was the most descriptive.
Its full of scientific misunderstanding. "This is a very powerful system. You are getting a earth battery as well as collecting earth currents from ether/static, and under ground radio waves." Which is utter nonsense - and I'm being very restrained in that comment.

Big picture. Simple words.
The energy is not "free"
The energy is not from the "earth".
Its from the Zinc manufacture.

To get Zinc metal from its ores, to manufacture it and purify it, takes *lots* of energy. Mostly it is smelted from Zinc Sulphide minerals.
https://prchandna.tripod.com/zincprocess.htm

By corroding, re-dissolving, the Zinc one *can* indeed get back *some* of the energy put in to extract the Zinc.
But its not "free earth energy" - its just part of the energy that was put in during manufacture.
And Zinc smelting isn't exactly "green".

Please, just quietly bury this topic.

If anyone has any interest in "earth energy batteries" would they please at least also take a look at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_cell
where the science is set out.

If you need a battery, use a rechargeable one.
Not a consumable one (like a Copper/Zinc cell).
And even better, use a renewable technology to recharge it.
