I have recently completed a course with Teesside University. 2 criteria exist to be accepted on the course. a sound business idea and a certain postcde. This is a national scheme. NES stands for New Entrepenuer Scholarship. Preference is given to more environmentally sound ideas..it is EU funded and I would recomend it to anybody who feels they have a good business idea. I only had to attend 1 day per week for 15 weeks. You are provided with a mentor and are given guidance and help. If you need further details I will sort out a contact number. p.m. me or e-mail me, but itis there for the asking!

So basically it's a start up scheme for new businesses? Sounds good, do you have to be in a particular business area?

No type of business at all. In my cohort we had an industrial cleaner, french polisher, aromatherapist, i.t. wizz kid ( there's loads here I know!) landscape gardeners, driving instructor! All got 3,500.

This sounds an interesting scheme, what are the postcode restrictions? Is it open to already established business' at all?

from my experience I would say, that, although it sounds ludicrous, it's true. This money is from European Funding..............which I believe we contribute to anyway. Just enquire and go for it. I have a contact, I could check out postcode!
