Hired powerbarrow and bought rotovator have both stopped working. Drive belt keeps coming off the Loadrunner barrow, MTD rotovator is no longer turning... This veg plot is taking a lot longer than anticipated.

Doesn't sound as painful as what I first imagined when I saw the thread title though!

have a nearly new electric lawnmower which has started throwing its belt, I'll try a new belt first. Cutting my Leylandii off, below ground level, really knackers the teeth on my Skil electric chainsaw. Guess what I'll be doing first thing tomorrow!

It's finally dried up enough here, but my tools are a bit more basic- so far the stainless spade has yet to fail, but with 288 square metres of veg bads to prepare, I could be some time

This seems to be a common complaint at Easter...

We borrowed a bulldozer to clear some land for new fencing - definately quicker than doing it by hand!

The 'dozer got stuck then the tracks stopped working and we had no idea what was wrong and no workshop manual

After a day of contacting people who could help, we finally got it off the slope with a crane and two tractors (it's a really heavy beastie) then a manual turned up from a friend of a friend and the dozer's now dismantled waiting for parts.

I don't get too involved with all the macho driving stuff, but I have to feed and water all the guys, calm them down and clean all the oily fingerprints off everything.

I imagine that one day I'll be able to pop into the garden wearing a pretty new Easter hat and some nice little gloves and cut a few fresh flowers for the table....

If its a "V" belt, tension it a bit more, that should help it stay put. If its a slipping belt, try a spot of black treacle. ( old fitters trick) works on slipping fan/alternator belts. There are commercially available belt spray dressings, but black treacle works well !
