We are trying to repair a Victorian bed. One of the casters has sheared off.

I'm not very good at googling and I haven't found any to replace it. Ideally it should be repaired but I am not sure if that is possible and how it could be done. Can anyone suggest anything please?

It would have to be drilled out and re-tapped by the looks of it Cathryn.

Good point, I can think of a couple locally that I will try.

@Tahir - thank you, they might work but I suspect that the fitting is too different. I also think that the favoured option would be to remove them all and have it without casters. I'm trying to work out why we want them in any case. If the bed gets moved it becomes very obvious that the floor was never carpeted underneath it.

This would be good, I might talk to a blacksmith if I can find one.

If you can wait till you come here, a visit to Murch's antique and tack emporium at Umberleigh might prove fruitful.

More mileage in your search if you spell it castors.
