As close to b*gg*r all as made no difference. There were about 2 permanent and 8-ish contract members of staff. I believe they were surviving on about 250,000 per year, possibly less. And they still managed some science. I've met some of the senior staff and they're brilliant, enthusiastic, overworked folk who'll be over the moon about this increase. And we'll see great results for what's been spent for sure. Its amazing what they managed on the money they had, they've been dying to hire some more scientist folk to do proper disease research and find some treatments.

'This will include identifying all those who keep bees '

Perhaps the funding comes with another price.....
Bee-tagging, anyone ?
etc etc

But yes, it is good news.
