Another query about buying property with DEFRA restrictions.
We looked at a property last week where the owner kept a few sheep and had a grant under the Environment Sensitive Area,Stage 2 scheme. The owner was away on holiday and so this fact did not come to light until after we had visited the property.
As far as I can gather from the DEFRA website there are a lot of conditions attached to this and as I understand this we would not be able to keep free range pigs due to ground damge, fencing etc. The estate agents reply is to check with DEFRA but as the holding is in someone else's name I don't think they would tell me when their agreement runs out (10years).
Has anyone had a similar experience with this?
