Any recommendations for suppliers of egg boxes?

Not huge quantities as I'm getting a surplus of up to a couple of dozen a week so I'm not going to need thousands of boxes but a couple of hundred would keep me going for a long enough time, save having to scavenge used boxes from all and sundry and let me sell a few at the gate without relying on passers by just happening to be carrying their own egg boxes (which is pretty unlikely)

I get them off ebay. Fairly cheap if you're not fussed about pretty colours.

We use Ascotts smallholding supplies. I think there's around 300 in a box. If that's too many, see if anyone else on here will sell you some.

Our local Wynnstay supplies them, so perhaps your local agricultural merchant does too. I'll find out what price I pay for mine.

I've just checked my last bill and I paid 19.50p plus vat for a bail of 150 half dozen egg boxes. They are only up the road from our place, so i didn't have to pay any carriage.

I got my last lot from Ascott - I will be trying Mole Valley for the next lot, because of the carriage.

When I started selling eggs I soon ran out of boxes, so I cadged some off a chicken keeping friend. The friend moaned at me that I should train my customers better. (Yes, those were here actual words. )

My customers were all duly trained the next week, and I haven't been short since. I even have two ladies that aren't customers bringing me boxes!

If you find yourself up my way you're welcome to loads. I acquired a load of new ones that are still in their packaging and I don't need them any more. When I sell eggs from the gate I ask people to return the boxes and they're pretty good about doing so. No use when you need boxes before you can sell them but fine once you're up and running.
