We also buy the white meat birds mentioned by Green Rosie. From a local small shop they are 80 cents for one-day olds. At the moment we have 12. Big and tasty

One of our geese has been laying since mid September this year. We get an egg every other day. Last year she started laying 2nd of January.

Not to worry, I'll work something out over here. I've found 30m 1" weld mesh for just over �40. Seems like an OK price.

I get the organic strong white from Waitrose. About 90 pence pr kg. Sometimes they do a good deal on two bags which gets the price down to 65-70 pence pr kg. Good price for organic I think.
