But I don't want or need a timer. I just want a button kids can press, water turns on, and 30 mins later,it turns off
Never tried it but cannot see any reason why you cannot just use the booster butt ...

I keep mine in the fridge and they seem to last for a few months - I read somewhere they freeze ok - next time I buy some I am going to try freezing a few to see if they keep their crunch.
