Advice from those who have actually done it. The hoops are up, the finance is in place. So required is the polycover...............possible cheapest suppliers? I was thinking LBS but dont know if they offer free delivery to the SW........ Just want a reasonably tough clear cover, not anti drip or anything. Anyone?

I got mine from first tunnels Service is good, cover is strong, no complaints My tunnel is 20ft by 8ft and the cover was 100 pounds ish

Thanks guys! Tavascarrow - hadnt even heard of Carters! Was going to try the guys in hayle,but have heard they are dear...Munros...

Lowes of Dundee are cheaper than JFC Munro from Hayle but for tunnel covers Carters are as cheap as anyone (At least they where when I last bought one 7 years ago) & better on the carbon miles.
For compost & general horticultural sundries AVONCROP are good, & again cheaper than Munro JFC.

Ours was from first tunnels too and has just been re erected for the third time. Fab quality.

Really interesting - when I sat and worked it out, First Tunnels are going to cost us �137.70, and Carters �86.97 for the same thing, and we can just pop down the road and pick it up from Carters. Will be phoning them tomorrow............

Well done for saving 50 quid... Just double check with the supplier you have the right size, they have an odd way of working it out.. Also it will take a few of you to get it covered, the slightest bit of wind and dont bother, it just becomes a big kite!

Funnily enough, yesterday I was offered the hoops etc for a 50 ft by 30ft Polytunnel for forty quid. Its only two miles up the road but I'm not sure whether to go for it or not. It certainly looks to be a very good bargain but I'm doing very nicely with my 8x6 greenhouse.

That's a bargain. Go for it. Imagine all the stuff you could grow in that size tunnel.

you can use it as a fruit cage if you use netting

Thats what were doing! Polytunnel cover over 5 hoopsand net over 3, adjoining. Bought the cover from the Redruth lot, who have thrown in free delivery as well. Its arriving Monday!

we netted the same area as a fruit cage but the badgers wanted the strawberries very badly and slashed their way through the netting, so we ended up putting 3ft high chicken wire all round from ground level. And the 'dwarf' cherry trees burst out through the top eventually, as the old net got fragile, so now I use the hoops and the horizontals between them as supports for grape vines.
