If you're lucky enough to have a Turkish or other med shop in your area loquats are in season. Cheaper and tastier than early season strawberries

Do have suggestions for using them Tahir? I like them fresh, but we can pick them up by the crate at the market towards the end of the morning and I can never resist a bargain.

Never even heard of them. Sounds lovely tho. What do you do with them apart from fresh, and making jam?

(Tahir makes everything into jam, by proxy.)

Never had enough cheap enough to do anything with bar eat them fresh.

I can imagine it would make a good sorbet, there are plenty of jam recipes on t'internet and they can allegedly replace apricots in cake recipes

Salsa does sound more interesting. I wasn't over awed with my jam, but perhaps just not the right combination of additions.
