I missed it last time, but may go for it this time. Could any users do a quick summary of how good/bad/useful etc. it is?

Would one of these dry chillies - most of mine went mouldy last year - could be worth it for that

I'll try here and later in the week, though I suspect they might not stock it at all. Of course if I do get one it'll cost me three times the value hiring some urchins to heave it back using a complicated rope and pulley system. And I left my whip at home today.

I get their weekly e-mail.....The food dehydrator is in next weeks stuff......But...you can preorder on next weeks stuff now....

Gives you a one week head start over the people who buy from the shops....

I've never had any difficulty with the on-line service, only used the shop once, when they had run out of stock on-line, but still had it in my local...

I realise I have been rather making assumptions...I assumed it would be more energy efficient, safer, and possibly more reliable. But I don't know that for sure. We have dried a lot of mushrooms in the oven and this year, chillis too, having no airing cupboard, but it took a long time, as we use the oven near enough every day we couldn't manage to leave things in for long enough to dry them in one go so they went in and out. Another of my assumptions is the dryer perhaps does a lower temp for longer so it has less risk of leaving you with a cooked smell. But I don't know. And I'm thinking twice about whether we should try it or not.

Quicker and gentler, I find; the result is normally better.

I've just ordered one to replace my dead Ezidri.
