Hi Angel_orto, welcome to the site. I don't think anyone here has had sweet potatoes successfully this year so that's why the response has been a bit slow; however, Thompson and Morgan do generally offer them, as do Marshalls (both to be found in the weblinks, see the sticky at the top of the grow your own forum) and if you are in the EU, you will probably be able to order them with ease.

Otherwise I would suggest you could try growing slips from a few different bought tubers to see whether you can come up with something usable, or perhaps see if your country has a website like the RHS plant finder, that will help you track down home suppliers. If you are in Italy you'll probably have better luck than we do in the UK!

This thread might help with prices, experience and tips:

Good luck and let us know if you have any success!

Hi Bugs, thanks for the welcome to the site,

I am appreciating it a lot and discovering many things I am deeply interested as foraging,
and many others, well I try to be in touch with Britain and I saw
T & M offers, also in the Kitchen Garden Magazine but they do not ship overseas even in EU !
Nobody ship to EU from Britain for what I saw,no more !
I have no idea about what happened in laws or habits !

I am growing some plants from the source you advice but I was interested in trying better and suitable varieties !

Interestenting also the thread !
In case somebody could make as a bridge to Italy I would be grateful,
talking of gardening among other things I do not think we in Italy
have better luck, may be better climate !

Some ornamental varieties is available at high cost !

Thanks for all and I think I will follow this site !

I am from Tuscany,

see you !

Sounds lovely.

What sort of chicken recipe are you looking for a simple roast chicken with seasonal vegetables would be English.

Anybody else offer a classic 'English' chicken dish. All the ones I can think of are adaptations of European dishes. But I have been to the pub.

Hi Angel_orto I planted some slips from Thompsons this year and they seem to be growing fine If I remember correct they are "Bergamot" variety if your interested i'm sure I could post you some cuttings to try, no loss if they do not take, but I was advise that due to the cost of slips that it would be better to over winter my own cuttings insidefor next years crop, will see if they survive...

rich.

Thanks a lot !
If you may send me some cutting next spring or also a 'root' would be fine,
in case I may also send something from here as seeds,

These varieties from T & M sound so appealing !!
