I use the drum of our last one a an outdoor cooking stove. Great ventilation. And the metal case is lying on it's side alongside another one as my workbench.

They appear to be the genuine rock star brand. Expensive, but, there's quality behind them.

I too would go for a used Miele. My 2nd hand Miele cost me 70 8 years ago, still going, and amazingly quiet in use.

Our first washing machine was made of parts from two washing machines discarded by husbands Gran and Aunt. It was a twin tub and didn't have all this electronic stuff, which made it a lot easier to work with. Although the spin dryer pump didn't work very well, it was better than washing sheets in the kitchen sink.

The drum of old washing machines is virtually de rigeur among the coppice community for sitting round or cooking at shows where you can't have a fire on the ground.
