I've often thought figs are rather overpriced considering how easy they are to grow from cuttings so I wanted to give a shout out to the source of these:

Hot Plant Company https://www.hpchg.co.uk/f.php is selling a range of varieties in 9cm pots for 3.69 a throw. I went for:
Adam, Brown Turkey, Brunswick, Precose de dalmatie, White Adriatic, Panachee and Violette Dauphine. I'll let you know how thye come along.
I'd like to have a look at the website but my computer is issuing a warning sign "proceed with caution" when I type it in. The link on their FB page also has the ? sign.

Interesting. I'm not getting that and our computers are best described as "highly sensitive" to those issues normally!
I love figs. I'm not sure how they will like salt winds but I'm tempted to try a few different varieties. A friend of mine has a large tree and she is not that far from the beach. How quickly do they grow and more importantly fruit?
In our old garden it was about 3 years (bit bigger than tai's though) in our current environment (much more exposed plus regular rabbit damage) it's been 7 and no figs yet

Thought in light of this comment it was worth posting this:
This is one of 4 figs forming on one of the pencils I posted a pic of in October 14.
and this is the fig nursery now:
the one in the front is the aforementioned "Adam", the fruiting one, predictably, is brown turkey.

Sure i read somewhere that they fruit earlier if the roots are restricted - might this be a reason?
Mines got loads of fruit this year and its next to an apple. It's planted in a hole about 1m3 lined with several layers of landscape fabric. No doubt it will escape at some time. I neglect it.
