im going out to trim the hedges, trim the giant laurel and mow the lawns....any more news on what i can do with the laurel??

maybe...but with only me (too fat to do any thing vaugely like running) mum (too old) the kids (too manic) and the dog...we wouldnt get a very even competition....then again i could just make the crowns and look like a complete oddball...

If you have an ailing pet hamster/mouse/gerbil/stick insect/wife then get a large jamjar, grab a handful of leaves, tear them up, throw them in, seal it, wait for about 30 to 40 minutes and you'll have your very own personal euthanasia clinic - just drop the ailing creature in a shut the lid.

It's true. Deadly fumes you see.

No, though it doesn't contain all that much.
Apparently if you use a twig to write/draw on the leaves then put them inside your clothes next to your skin for a while the writing/drawing turns brown and becomes easy to read/see.

When I get loads of prumings/clippings like that I put them through a shredder and put the shreddings on a compost heap. Mixing the laurel about 50:50 with grass clipping will speed up the decomposition.

Never sure if this is a good use of electricity, but anything less that 1 inch in diameter ends up on the compost heap.

so i ahve to walk around the garden in 9o degree heat with laurel leaves stuffed in my clothes..its like something for The Wicca man'in here sometimes...
