Hi all,

I'm looking for one or two Oxford Sandy & Black pigs to breed from - 'in-pig' gilts preferably - but have drawn several blanks during the last week or two in my search - I can't even get hold of the breed club secretary!

I'd happily even settle for resgistered weaners if the gilt idea came to a dead end.

Does anyone know of any people that keep and register this breed????

Thanks in advance.

My nephew breeds these, and he may have a sow in pig at the moment. If you don't get anywhere with the in pig gilt, then let me know and I'll give you his email address.....he is in York though.

Alternatively try Tony York at Pig Paradise as I know he breeds them, as I got four weaners to fatten from him last year.

I noticed a few breeders advertising in Country Smallholding magazine, latest issue. As they are obviously trying to sell, could be a useful start

I know someone it south bucks who breeds them for meat sales - don't know if they'd be willing to sell on, but happy to put you in touch. PM me if it's close enough for you, and you haven't found anything else.

Felt I should chip in, as you know I normally have OSBs. This year, I don't, and the guy I normally get them from has vanished into the ether (well, probably not, but his email no longer works). I'm afraid I can do no better than point you to Tony York, or the back pages of Smallholder.
