Ingredients
1 pound flour (any type)
300ml buttermilk
1 teaspoon bread soda
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg (optional)
Recipe
Mix all ingredients well in a bowl.
Be prepared to add more buttermilk if needed.
Mixing should only take a minute or so - consistency should be sticky.
Bake for 15 minutes in hot oven ie 180 degrees (see it puff up and double in size!).
Bake for further 40 or so minutes in low oven ie 100 degrees.
Loaf is done when knife inserted in comes out cleanly.
