my youngest daughter was born in oct 2011 and when we arrived at hospital we were taken into a birthing centre. had coffee toast cerial anything we liked we could use it. but they are a charity run business so as they helped us i was thinking of trying to help them if at all possible . Now i was wandering whats involved? ok im thinking obviously clay grounds to start with so im going to look into going up to local grounds and asking. would i need insurence if they have it already? equipment ie; guns clays carts would i need to get some sort of loan guns sorted buy carts and clays myself? any help would be good im looking to do it this year but not in next week or so so am taking my time to research what i would need to do to set up an event like that. cheers in advance matty.

Talk to the police - they would need to know if it is a public event.

why would they need to know just out of question? as will be run at a shooting school so its a public place

In addition to advising about firearms they can advise about public safety, insurance and a host of other things. When we used to organise community fundraising carnivals they were very helpful and gave us lots of good advice.

Speak to the people who run the site. I expect they have seen it or similar before. They should be able to advise.

There's a local charity shoot my work enters each year - the way they do it (in case you're looking for ideas) is:
    - Teams of up to 5,
    - Multiple stations; 25 shots at a station (ie a full team has 5 each),
    - guns provided by the organiser and a guy goes round with you loading for beginners and helping advise and score for the team.
    - they also usually have a bbq etc but also a separate "try-out trap" where people can buy a few shots before they set off to get their eye in


This works really well but it is really rather easy and hence restricted to basically novices and people like me who shoot once a year. It also maybe works better here than it might elsewhere because of the tightness of the business community.
